Xbox Game Bar
To record a video using the Xbox Game Bar, do the following:
- Press Win + Alt + R on your keyboard. This will start the recording, and you will see a small pop-up with the recording timer on your screen.
- Once you are done recording, press Win + Alt + R again. This will stop the recording.
- Your saved video will be located in your default Windows Video folder. It can be found in this directory in your File Explorer: C:\Users\USERNAME\Videos\Captures (replace "USERNAME" with the name of your Windows profile).
To take a screenshot using the Xbox Game Bar, follow the same steps but use the Win + Alt + PrtScrn. Your screenshots will be stored in the same directory.
Snipping Tool
To create a screenshot or a video using the Snipping Tool, do the following:
- Press Win + Shift + R on your keyboard. This will open the Snipping Tool interface.
- In the menu that pops up, choose between a screenshot or a video recording by clicking the respective icon.
- Use your mouse to choose the area of recording. If recording a video, you will also need to press the Start button.
- If recording a video, you will also need to press the Stop button when you want to finish recording.
The screenshots and videos you create using the Snipping Tool will be stored in the following directories:
- Videos: C:\Users\USERNAME\Videos\Screen Recordings
- Screenshots: C:\Users\USERNAME\Pictures\Screenshots
Once again, do not forget to replace "USERNAME" with the name of your Windows profile.
